  • Responsible for providing the following centralized services to virtually all Vidant entities/departments: Contracts Management, Clinical Quality Value Analysis (CQVA), Purchasing, Printing, and Courier services. Support is also provided across the system for these services: Distribution of supplies, and laundry/linen management, automated point of use supply dispensing systems (ex: Pyxis), inventory management and vendor management/relations.
  • Meet/exceed financial targets and savings goals in areas of responsibility.
  • Sustain strategies and structures to create success and meet   savings goals to include:
  • Working with UCG Groups, Vidant entities, departments and other stakeholders to develop strategies to improve performance, quality, standardization and cost reduction.
  • Manage Vidant contracts with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) and non-GPO related contracts (also purchasing coalitions such as the Central Atlantic Healthcare Network (CAHN)).
  • Use appropriate data mining and benchmarking tools (PriceLYNX, GPO provided spend analyses and data)
  • Leverage supply chain technology solutions to ensure maximum effectiveness.
  • MMIS, Imaging Software, Data cleansing (DataLYNX), Item master updates.
  • Automated point of use supply / scrubs dispensing system (ex: Pyxis), linen management system,  redeployed asset management system and  pricepoint benchmarking/data mining systems (PriceLYNX).
  • Provide a workplace environment that promotes teamwork, initiative, growth and proactive customer service among and for all division employees.
  • Direct and support transition of new acquisitions to Vidant supply chain.
  • Manage supply chain due diligence.
  • Manage moving new entity to appropriate GPO(s), contracts and pricing.
  • Establish savings targets and system to measure success (metrics). 

Minimum Requirements

  • College Degree of 4 years with a major in Business or healthcare related field is required
  • Master's Degree or MBA in Business or healthcare is required.
  • One year of experience as described may be substituted for one year of education with a maximum of two years substitution.
  • Five plus years experience working as a senior supply chain leader/manager preferably within a multi-dimensional geographically disbursed healthcare system or large service organization.
  • Must have:
  • Excellent analytical and persuasion skills
  • Must possess personal computer and software knowledge to include Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint;
  • Prefer experience with Lean programs such as Six Sigma,
  • Working knowledge and understanding of major ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, Lawson, etc.
