Responsibilities

  • Manages Audit and Compliance personnel in the completion of audit engagements and compliance reviews to ensure resources are efficiently and effectively employed.

  • Supervises staff, reviews Audit and Compliance work at a detail level, develops or assists in development of tests to be performed during the audit field work.

  • Performs audits that test the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information and compliance to regulations.

  • Reviews risk for the organization in Audit and Compliance areas, assists Chief Audit/Compliance Officer in developing annual goals, objectives, and budgets for department that are consistent with corporate mission.

  • Reports audit findings to the appropriate executive and management staff, establishes tracking systems to control follow up on work performed and ensures deficiencies are addressed with corrective action.

  • Determines compliance with policies, procedures, rules, laws and regulations and the review of regulations and guidelines interpreting compliance issues. Evaluates possible impact of what non-compliance could have on operations.

  • Meets regularly with staff on open projects. Maintains regular reporting schedule with Chief Audit/Compliance Officer, Audit and Compliance Committee, and External Auditors.

  • Is a member of the Corporate Compliance Steering Committee and participates in compliance monitoring activities.

  • Works with Chief Audit/Compliance Officer to design, develop, implement, and monitor automated Compliance Tools for Executive Dashboard reporting to the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board Members.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4 year degree in Accounting, Business or Finance or related field is required.

  • 5 years or more Healthcare Organization, Accounting Firm, State Auditor's Office, or other related organizations can provide experience. Prefer healthcare experience.

  • Candidate should have at least three years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • Advanced certifications as CPA, CMA, or CIA preferred.
