  • Review selected patient records both concurrently, and retrospectively – identifying opportunities to clarify and promote more specificity in the patient’s record
  • Achieve and sustain chart review productivity of 2.5 charts per hour
  • Educate PA and NP staff members
  • Provides lectures, presentations, newsletter, coding tips, etc. as tools to assist with continous quality improvement.
  • Improve coding knowledge of clinical indicators via education and feedback from chart reviews (emails, meetings, other correspondence)  
  • Provide analysis, education, committee work, and complete special projects (independent or directed) on topics related to documentation and its impact on the health system or physician metrics. 
  • Provides patient care averaging  2-3 shifts per month (12 or 8 hour with 24 hour total)--- within a Vidant Health EHR environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • College Degree plus other schooling: Nurse Practiioner or Physician Assistant
  • 1 to 3 years experience: Inpatient acute care
  • NC RN Licensure & NC Nurse Practitioner or as a Physician Assistant, National Board Certification as an NP/PA required.
